Most jobs follow the same steps.
- Mark head positions with you before any drilling.
- Core a small wall opening and mount the indoor head.
- Set the outdoor unit on a pad or bracket, clear of the property line.
- Run the line set, power and drain, then pressure test and pull a vacuum.
- Commission each head and show you the remote, schedule and fan settings.
Permits and Building Rules
Adding a mini split is permitted work in California. In West Los Angeles the permit is issued by LADBS, and power comes from LADWP. Condo and apartment buildings often add their own rules for rooftop or balcony equipment and wall openings, so we ask about the association or manager up front and shape the plan to match.
