Brentwood and the Westside of Los Angeles
Brentwood
Brentwood splits between flat streets of 1950s ranch homes running their original attic ductwork and canyon estates up Mandeville and Kenter where narrow winding road access decides how equipment arrives and in how many pieces. On the canyon lots the condenser sits on a cut pad below the living space with real vertical rise back to the air handler, while the ranch homes below usually need the supply trunk and return resized before new equipment can reach its rated airflow.
West Los Angeles and the central Westside
West Los Angeles
West Los Angeles packs small lot houses, duplexes and apartment buildings close together, so clearance at the property line and the sound the condenser puts against a neighboring bedroom settle placement long before line set length enters the conversation. Condominium and apartment work runs through building rules on rooftop and balcony equipment and on exterior wall penetrations, and the older duplexes have no duct chases at all, which pushes most of those jobs toward ductless heads with the line set dropped down an outside wall.
